recently, the show got a packed house. And this is not the first such show in recent times that has received such a positive response in Ahmedabad.

Gujarati theatre

has been going through a happy phase not only giving Gujarati theatre artists a lot to look forward to in terms of creative satisfaction and artistic freedom, but also give them financial stability. With alternate smaller venues staging plays at a regular basis apart from a bevy of commercial plays coming to the city regularly, Gujarati theatre is now becoming a more sustainable platform for actors, even more than films for many.
Talking about it, Abhinay Banker says, “Theatre has really flourished in Gujarat and thanks to smaller spaces, now we can explore and experimenting without having to worry much about the finances,” says Abhinay Banker. He adds, “Unlike films, theatre is now providing more opportunities to artists. Plays are being held on a regular basis, there is a growing audience for all kind of plays and even though financially the struggle is still on, but it is surely improving. And smaller venues have a lot to do with this revival.”
