I am partial to old Gujarati songs: Shyamal

For someone who has been one of the best and most popular singers of Gujarat - be it his albums or performances or even at garba venues, Shyamal Munshi sure likes to stick to his roots.
The brothers Shyamal-Saumil have sung numerous songs not just in Gujarati but also Hindi. They have staged shows singing old Hindi film music which has attracted a lot of audiences.However. Shyamal Munshi has his favourites picked out. Says Munshi, "I am extremely partial towards old Gujaarti songs - be it traditional folklores for marriages and other occasions and just even film songs. I believe these have a story to tell. They all do."
