Shilpa Rao debuted as a singer for Dr. Darshan Trivedi's Gujarati film Lakiro'- Exclusive!

has been frequently giving a dose of the behind-the-scenes action. ETimes has got a glimpse where the popular singer Shilpa Rao is seen alongside

Parth Bharat Thakkar

, the filmmaker, and other team members. Shilpa Rao, a

Bollywood

singer, has made her debut in

Gujarati

music, and in an interview with ETimes, she expressed her feelings about the debut and Parth and director Trivedi too shared their views on the same.


Darshan Trivedi said: "Shilpa has a very soothing voice. We were doing a relationship-based song and trying to fit that into jazz. When Parth came to me saying he was thinking of Shilpa Rao as the singer, I couldn't agree more. The song she has given voice to has come out as one of the most powerful songs of the film. What I liked about the process was despite being a non-Gujarati, she was so prepared with Gujarati diction. It is a complicated song filled with emotions, and yet she has done complete justice to the song."

Shilpa Rao: "On record, this is my first Gujarati song for the film 'Lakiro'. Parth Bharat Thakkar has made a beautiful song. Something that people will definitely connect with. It has a feeling of so much love, warmth, and compassion..."

Parth Bharat Thakkar: "I have always loved Shilpa’s voice and I am glad that we could make her a part of this song and she has done a great job too. This also happens to be her debut in Gujarati so it’s even more special for me and team 'Lakiro'. This song is going to be a duet with another special singer which we shall reveal soon. Also, it's a great lyric by Chirag Tripathi. I can’t wait for people to hear this song and the entire album."
