Manoj Muntashir recently grabbed the headlines for all the wrong reasons as some people on social media claimed that his song 'Teri Mitti' from Akshay Kumar's film 'Kesari' has been lifted from a 2005 Pakistani song.

Manoj Muntashir recently grabbed the headlines for all the wrong reasons as some people on social media claimed that his song 'Teri Mitti' from Akshay Kumar's film 'Kesari' has been lifted from a 2005 Pakistani song. As 'Teri Mitti's is sung by Geeta Rabari, her name too was dragged in the controversy. Thus, we reached out to the folk singer, who is fondly known as 'Kutch Ni Koyal', to know what exactly went wrong with the song and the she clarifies, "Honestly, there is no such controversy, it's just some mindless things said by a few immature individuals."
She furthermore adds, ``First of all, I belong to Gujarat which is situated in India, and secondly, the song from the movie 'Kesari' that I uploaded on YouTube doesn't belong to me but it was a cover of the beautifully written original 'Teri Mitti'."
Irrespective of what's written and printed, Geetaben is all praise for the writer and shuts the buzz once and for all.

"Manoj Muntashir is an amazing lyricist and writer we have in Indian Cinema. So, the silly rumors floating around saying that Bollywood has plagiarized a song sung by me is completely false," she concludes.
Moreover, in an earlier interview with ETimes, Manoj had stated, “Those making these allegations should kindly check the video which has been uploaded many months after the release of our film, ‘Kesari’. And for your kind information the singer is not Pakistani but our very own Indian folk singer Geeta Rabari. You can call and check with her, too.”
