‘Screening our films abroad opens avenues for wider fan base’
Deeksha Joshi's two films
“After my films Karsandas: Pay & Use and Sharato Lagu was screened in Canada, I got so many messages from fans praising my work. They also sent me pictures of themselves at the movies and of the tickets which is very overwhelming for an actor. When a movie is showcased internationally it also opens avenues for a wider fan base and not just Indians but also international movie enthusiasts who do not otherwise have access to regional films get a chance to watch and appreciate our industry,” says Deeksha Joshi who films Dhunki and Luv Ni Love Storys will be screened this year.
“In the last two years after my films started screening abroad, I have received so much love from them. Also Dhunki is a movie that talks about following your passion so I feel the students studying there will be able to relate to it. Luv Ni Love Storys is a romantic movie with very good songs which can be watched with family when an NRG feels homesick,” says Deeksha who feels regional movies give NRGs a peek into what India is like currently.
