Rakesh Pujara, who has done over 80 films and has made it big in the regional film industry as the bad boy of Gujarati cinema, was born into a lower middle class family and owes his success to one person from the industry who encouraged him to go ahead and make it big.
"My father worked in a shop and I grew up in a very normal family. At 20 I was working in a bank but always wanted to be an actor.
Then one day I got to know that an actor, Shri Natubhai Umtya has come to live in our locality. I immediately went to him and expressed my acting dreams. He was the first person I auditioned before, he loved my acting and that was it. I quit my job and got into acting full time. Natubhai is the one person I owe my entire career to.
