Maulika Patel on OTT vs theatre release: We can compare OTT with TV

and all the credits go to her acting prowess. She has enthralled the audience with her appearance in films titled 'Canvas-Rang Jindagi Na', '3 DOBA Three Mistakes Of God', 'Daav Thai Gayo Yaar' and 'Commitment'. These days due to the pandemic, big budgeted films are directly getting released on

OTT

platforms instead of theatres which has definitely affected the film industry. ETimes reached out to the actress to know what she feels about the changeover and its impact over the industry.

Maulika is a big fan of watching a film on big screens. "Watching a film in a

theatre

is altogether a different and the best experience, one can not get the same on any OTT platform. It's fun watching your preferred films on the big screen with the best quality of sound. I do miss going to cinemas with my friends and family. This pandemic has truly affected our industry very badly and so big movies had to be released on OTT and they don't work," she feels.

The actress compares OTT with TV, "I guess we can compare OTT with TV. Like we used to watch our favorite serials and cartoons on

TV

10 years back. Shows like MTV Roadies, Shaktiman, and others similarly we can see episodic content on OTT wherein we have the power to choose the content that we want to see, Thriller, Suspense, Comedy, RomCom, etc."

"I miss the pre-pandemic days, and pray that we get them back as early as possible," Maulika concluded the conversation.
