The year 2019 might have started on a slow note for the Gujarati film industry, but now it’s time for some action. And it’s great news for
Malhar Thakar fans, who recently signed his next film with
Neeraj Joshi. The actor-filmmaker duo who had collaborated in the past for the immensely successful, Cash on Delivery and Sharato Lagu are set to reunite.
The film’s first schedule began recently in Vadodara with acting workshops for Malhar and Pooja Jhaveri. Pooja plays the romantic lead opposite Malhar in the film. “It’s great to be back on the sets,” says Malhar who’s returned after a six month sabbatical from films. TheSharato Lagu actor, who is working on his third film with Neeraj, adds, “Neeraj and I have worked on two
films
in the past. We share a comfort level that makes working with him sheer joy. Both of us have a clear understanding of what we want from our film and that leads to a smooth workflow.” Malhar, who has temporarily shifted base to the Sanskarnagri for the film, hopes to wrap up the entire film in the first schedule itself. He says, “The first schedule of the film will continue for 35 days and we will shoot at Vadodara, Jambughoda, Rajpipla among other locations.”
Malhar says he is trying something different in this film and is hopeful that his fans will accept him in this new character. “I play the role of a teacher who has a Master’s degree from a prestigious university in the US. He returns to India to teach underprivileged children. I hope this role strikes a chord with the audience,” adds Malhar.
