Love wearing ugly sweaters and having milk & cookies on Xmas: Raunaq Kamdar
How about some milk and cookies too?” asked Raunaq Kamdar, as he joined us for a fun Christmas shoot wearing an ugly sweater and a Santa cap. While playing with baubles, Raunaq says, “It’s the season of chilly and merry times. I love winters, as I get to wear cute socks and cosy ugly sweaters. Christmas is like the beginning of the year-end, and everything feels beautiful.”
‘I used to look forward to Xmas celebrations in school’
Raunaq, who studied at St Xavier’s High School, Loyola Hall, shares, “In school, we had a big Christmas celebration every year. We had a big Xmas tree decorated with all the ornaments, and there were school parties. I would look forward to the celebrations; we ate sweets and cakes, which I still cherish every Christmas.”
Talking about the celebrations now, Raunaq adds, “Usually, I have shoots or film promotions lined up. But for a few years, I have been free during Xmas and I am in a holiday mood. My school is very close to my house. So, on Christmas Eve, I walk down to the church there, listen to carols and attend the midnight mass.”
‘There’s no diet during Xmas holidays’
Raunaq, who has a sweet tooth, tells us, “Yeh kuch hi toh din hote hai, jab aap sab kuch bina guilt kha sakte ho. Milk and cookies are my favourites to start the Christmas morning. While the usual Christmas spread is huge, being a vegetarian, I savour cakes, brownies, pies, and fudges. My diet goes for a toss, but I don’t regret it (laughs).”
He adds, “My friends and I often party during Christmas. We have a theme party where we dress up in reds and greens, dance and eat.”
Xmas rapid fire round:
· I want to be a Secret Santa for: I think it will be my fiancée Netri Sheth. I pretty much know what she might like.
· My Secret Santa from D-Town should be: Several (laughs)! Parth Oza, Hemang Dave or Shraddha Dangar may have some good ideas.
· My ideal Christmas gift: Netflix should sign me for a project (laughs)! I would also love a weekend getaway.
· My favourite Christmas movie: Home Alone. I love watching it every Xmas, cosying up on my sofa with a blanket and cheese pizza!
