Karan Bhanushali: 'Kutch Express' is a powerful coming-of-age story of a woman

After penning the script for Jay Bodas' family drama 'Fakt Mahilao Maate,' writer Karan Bhanushali has written another new genre for the film titled 'Kutch Express,' directed by Viral Shah that stars well-known actors such as Ratna Pathak Shah, Manasi Parekh Gohil, Darsheel Safary, and others.

In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Karan spills the beans about his second Gujarati project as a writer.

Karan shares, "After 'Fakt Mahilao Maate', this is my second film as a writer though I wrote it first. The pandemic made us wait for so long but after looking at the teaser and the response it has garnered, it feels like it was worth the wait."

Revealing the genre, he adds, "Kutch Express" is a powerful coming-of-age story of a woman. I am sure a lot of women will connect with it. If 'Fakt Mahilao Maate' was a story of a man struggling in a woman's world, this one is about a woman trying to find her space in a man's world. I am happy that I am getting opportunities to work on these kinds of stories."

On giving two releases this year, the elated writer said, "It's been a great year for me as I have had two releases this year. I have two releases lined up for next year as well, both as an actor and a writer. Simultaneously, I am continuously writing for tv shows. So far, I have been able to maintain a balance between both crafts."
