After the Galwan Valley face-off between the Indian and Chinese troops, the ties between the two countries have just been going downhill. In the recent turn of events, the Indian government has taken an important step in securing its cyber space by banning 59 Chinese apps. Talking about this, many celebrities have shared their thoughts and so have stars from the Gujarati film fraternity.
Dhollywood celebrities like
Sunil Vishrani, Tarika Tripathi and
Hemang Shah exclusively express their thoughts with ETimes.
Sunil Vishrani says, "It was indeed a good step by the Government of India to ban 59 Chinese apps. I show my support to the brave Indian Army/Navy/Airforce soldiers by supporting the Government's ban of 59 Chinese apps. I have deleted all these apps from my mobile and laptop. The next step from my side will be to avoid goods made in China including gadgets from China. It will contribute indirectly to Modiji's Swadesi movement 'Make In India'."
Tarika Tripathi expresses, "I think our government has done their part and now it's our turn to support them. I think we must develop our apps which are safer when it comes to data privacy. And that will also make us self dependent. I support this ban."
Hemang Shah also shares, "It’s good! I nonetheless stopped using all types of social media apps just a few weeks ago. It has become a big hassle. These apps are too clunkily designed and put weight on your mental well-being. They are designed to be addictive. Now, the step concerning the banning of these Chinese apps is a cherry on top of the cake. Sonam Wangchuk quite vocally voiced his concerns regarding the use of these apps, and the benefits if we all come together and stop using them. Now, as the government just helped us do exactly that, it's perfect."
