Maulik revealed, "While I had been acting in theatres before I started

shooting

for films and serials, I always dreamed of being cast for television and the silver screen. However, when I stepped in front of the camera for the very first time, I completely forgot all my experience and went blank. The apprehension of my audience judging me took over. I got worried that people would laugh at my act and the presence of great actors around me intimidated me. These were the very stars I had seen on television and dreamed of working with. I felt I would never be able to work after that day, and no one would know who I was. I would probably have to go back to what I had been doing earlier."

The

'Hellaro'

actor added, "My fear of people laughing came true, however, they didn’t laugh at me, but on my jokes. Of course, I made mistakes, but I conquered some comic timings too. That was a great motivation. I learnt so much in that one day and I also decided that now on, I would make people laugh even more, not on me, but on my jokes. Just like a child, I began practicing, making my mistakes but also learning from them. As I started acting, I was constantly learning new things and I still am. Beginning from a small role, today I have National Award-winning films 'Hellaro' and 'Montu Ni Bittu' to my credit. But I still feel the same panic that I had felt that day when I came in front of the camera for the first time. The only difference now is that I was afraid of the camera that time, and now I love the camera."
