Faisal Hashmi to make his Bollywood debut with 'Cancer'- Exclusive!

Faisal Hashmi has surprised everyone by announcing his debut Bollywood film 'Cancer'. The director who is known for his Gujarati projects will be seen working along with stars like Aahana Kumra and Sharib Hashmi. In an exclusive interview with ETimes, the director opened up about his Bollywood debut, the film and much more.
Faisal shares, "It's human nature, everybody wants to go up in life.Every storyteller wants his audience to grow bigger and bigger. Bollywood has the broadest audience reach in India. I want my stories to be watched by as many people as possible."
Revealing more about his Bollywood debut he said, "It's like a dream come true. Especially when an American production house is producing your film and actors like Aahana Kumra and Sharib Hashmi are part of your fictional world that you want to create onscreen. Both are fantastic actors and very down-to-earth human beings. I can't wait to go on floors. I would also like to especially mention two names. Mr. Pankaj Mamtora, my producer, is into saving lives in the USA and got a presidential award from Mr. Joe Biden for his excellent volunteer work. The second guy is my creative producer Mr. Devansh Patel, who has an excellent sense of content and stories."
Talking about the film and the star cast, he said, " 'Cancer' is a high-concept thriller that combines science and suspense in a most unimaginable way. The film is written by me and my co-writer Gary Rowlands. We've locked Aahana Kumra and Sharib Hashmi. The hunt for other casting is going on and should get locked by the end of this year."
Adding more to the conversation, he further spoke about doing more projects in Gujarati industry, "Yes, I will always be connected to my roots. Gujarati films and Gujarati audiences have given me immense love and respect. I want to tell more stories from Gujarat. I want to explore different genres in Gujarati cinema which are yet to be explored."
