Did You Know Meet Kariya used to self-teach filmmaking on YouTube?

Meet Kariya is a filmmaker who has worked on music projects like 'Rona Wrong Side Ma' with Dhaval Barot, 'Tu Naseeb Ma Na Thi' with Jignesh Barot, 'Mune Ekli Jaani Ne', 'Dhol Vaage Che' alongside Santvani Trivedi, amongst many others. But, did you know how he landed up being a director in the entertainment industry?

When ETimes contacted the young filmmaker to learn more about his filmmaking journey, he opened up in a candid interview.

"I was always inspired by the idea of being a filmmaker. The direction was possibly something that I knew that I had in me. Since my days in college, I was majorly focused on being part of theatre, events, videography, and debates. I even used to self-teach filmmaking on YouTube.I somehow thought this is what it is for me and it seems like I was writing while listening to myself," Meet revealed his journey.

He further said, "When I got the opportunity to appear and clear my filmmaking course with all major academies including Toronto Film School, New York Film Institute, and Satyajeet Ray Film academy, I felt so relieved and proud of myself. I even received a scholarship with Toronto Film School but destiny has other plans for me. Covid changed my story but for the good. Here I am working on my upcoming projects and I hope my hard work shall be taken well."

On the work front, he collaborated with his brother Jay Kariya for 'Saiyar Mori Re'. The film is directed by Vishal Vada Vala and Mayur Chauhan aka Michael and Yukti Randeria among many finest actors.
