Vocalist Soma Ghosh throws a party in Varanasi to celebrate her Padma Award win

To celebrate her Padma Shri award win with her friends and acquaintances in the city, eminent vocalist Soma Ghosh recently threw a party. “Banaras has given me a lot so I wanted to thank all those who have supported me in my journey,” said the vocalist.

To celebrate her Padma Shri award win with her friends and acquaintances in the city, eminent vocalist Soma Ghosh recently threw a party. “Banaras has given me a lot so I wanted to thank all those who have supported me in my journey,” said the vocalist.
At this well-attended do, prominent people of the city including Ram Gopal Mohely, mayour Banaras, Dr Prithvish Nag, Vice Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidhyapith University and Ashok Dwivedi, president of Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, among others, made their presence felt.

Eminent danseuse Sonal Mansingh, who was in town for her performance at the Sankat Mochan Music Festival, also came for the celebrations.
The bash had its share of music. A budding artist, Sarang Kumar gave a solo performance on santoor while a jugalbandi between Anish Mishra on sarangi and Neeraj Mishra on sitar was the highlight of the evening. Later, Soma also chipped in and rendered popular compositions like Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo, Humri Atariya Pe and Dagar Chit Kaise Chalo.
