, Banaras Hindu University buzzed with activity as the students showcased their creativity at the annual Kala Mela. Folk being the theme of the event, the entire venue was given a village like feel. Dry barks of the trees from the campus were used to give a thatched roof look to the place. The stage on the wall had murals of village scene etched on it. Some of the installations also were inspired from the rural life. A scarecrow, made by Deepak, Dheeraj and Abhishek Bhaskar, acted as a perfect prop to click selfies.

A stall of tattoos set up by Shivangi, a fourth year student became a popular haunt for the students, especially for girls who were seen getting themselves inked. Similary a Bhoot Bangla was set up by Ripudaman, Santosh, Sunil and Chetan Mishra was popular among those keen to enjoy the spooky effect.

The mela was also marked by live performances by Ankita Kushwaha danced on popular numbers like Sasural Genda Phool, Hooton Pe Aise Baat, Chaan Ke Mohalla while Vishwa Thapa and Mark rendered Aao Na.
