A Sufi night to remember for Banarasis

Sufi being the mood of the evening, some soulful music was belted out by

Dr Jagriti Luthra Prasanna

and

Dr Neeta Pandey Negi

better known as Roohani sisters. The event, organised by a cultural organisation in the city, had the audience asking for more. The artistes rendered some iconic sufi numbers including those that were incorporated in films.

Bhar Do Jholi from Bajrangi Bhaijan rendered by the singers had the audience clapping along. The cheering got louder as they went on to sing Aaja Ve Maahi. Soon the requests started pouring in from the guests. "Aur aapke ke request kiyo hue gaane sabse baad mein gayenge, nahi toh aap apna gaana sun kar chale jayenge," said Neeta in jest.

Khawaja Mere Khawaja rendered by them were one of the requested songs. Afreen Afreen and Yeh Jo Halka Halka Suroor Hai further stirred up the evening that reached its pinnacle with the song Dama Dam Mast Kalandar.
