The city folk began their day on a musical note as an event, Swarchan, was organised by a cultural organization. The morning programme featured vocalist Pt Kumar Mardur who hails from the rich Dharwad tradition. The artist began with a composition in Raag Miyan ki Todi. He rendered the raag-based song dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Next was another raag based composition, Sanwariya Neend Nahi Aawe, that was really appreciated by the audience. The young artist presented a Kabir bhajan, Beet Gaye Din in raag Kirwani. He concluded his performance with Meerabai bhajan Sanwara Preet Nibhao. He was accompanied by Prof Pravin Uddhav on tabla and Mohit Sahani on harmonium.
