Indian women’s cricket star
Smriti Mandhana etched her name into the record books during the first Women’s T20 International against Sri Lanka in Visakhapatnam, becoming the
first Indian woman cricketer to surpass 4,000 runs in T20 internationals — a major milestone in her career and Indian women’s cricket.
Mandhana, the elegant left-handed opener, reached this landmark during India’s chase, finishing with 25 runs. Although her innings was brief, it was enough to push her career T20I tally past the 4,000-run mark — a feat previously achieved by only one other woman globally, New Zealand’s Suzie Bates.
