SG PIPERS CHEETAHS are the champions of Meteora Developers World Padel League 2025
SG PIPERS CHEETAHS bagged the trophy of World Padel League 2025. An overwhelmed Enrique Goenaga and elated Juanlu Esbri, star players of CHEETAHS conveyed to the media stating, "We thank the Indian fans for cheering for us and are surprised to see the packed stands and are eagerly looking forward to return here in the next season." Team Vernost JAGUARS emerged the 2nd in the league.
World Padel League that was held at Nesco Grounds in Mumbai was co-presented by METEORA Developers Dubai and ID INFO Business Services. The other competing teams were Sohail Khan's PANTHERS, Vernost JAGUARS and Game Changers LIONS.
Krishnan Kanan of ID Info Business Services the presenters of WPL mentioned, "This is our first association with the WPL and have planned the next season on a larger scale. I am upbeat hearing that Padel sport will be included soon in the Olympics. With Padel courts springing up across India, we will soon see Indian Padel players gaining international acclaim," further accrediting the credit to the efforts and support from Indian superstar Tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi.
"Padel is much tougher and challenging and one level higher than Pickle Ball, with more stamina an strength involved and the Gen Z in India is keen to play this fastest growing sport in the world, With the help of IPF we shall be nurturing talented young Indian players to play in the League probably the next year itself," Krishnan Kanan asserted.
Padel is not a rich man's sport anymore in India
"With over 137 Padel Courts across India, we shall see an exponential growth in the next year itself, the IPF aims to bring Pedal within reach of everybody. Presently all metros are exploding across India with even the Tier 2 cities," remarked Sneha Abraham Sehgal, President of Indian Padel Federation speaking to Paresh B Mehta.
Ronnie Sehgal, General Secretary of IPF pointed out, "Our primary objective is to make sure that Padel isn't just an aspirational option for young players of every strata of the society. At IPF we have initiatives like providing free use of Padel rackets, providing facilities at low cost to players, even no payment for playing Padel in non-peak hours. We want everybody can play Padel and we also have ranking system to support young Indian players to grow."
"The next season of World Padel League will be a Game Changer for Padel in India, with the participation of Indian players and the interest shown by Indian corporates, Celebrities and Sports stars." Ronnie stated, further appreciating the efforts of Naghma Khan of Shaaz Media Events, Dubai for their Public Relations.
The first IPF organized Indian Padel tournament is coming up on March 8 in Kochi, with a year-round calendar spanning 10 cities to be announced soon. "I urge Indian parents to introduce Padel to their children early for them to have a chance for them to play at International tournaments and excel at the sport," Sneha Abraham Sehgal suggested.
