Ranchi marks Good Friday with carols and mass

All the major churches observed Good Friday across the capital on Friday. Morning mass was held in all the churches to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus as a sacrifice for the mankind. Christian devotees gathered at the Loyola Ground on Friday morning for the mass and sang carols to celebrate the glory of Jesus. Since Good Friday is observed as a day of mourning, the churches in Ranchi had bare minimum decorations on the occasion.To mark the solemnity of the occasion, the churches were left dark and the prayers were offered to a simple cross placed on the altar and without any flowers or decorations.
