Raipurians bask in film appreciation, poetry, dastango and soulful renditions

The recently concluded Great Indian Film and Literature Festival in

Raipur

witnessed film and literature connoisseurs in the city basking in the lineup that had screenings, theatre presentations, poetry competition, storytelling and musical concerts. After the inauguration, the very first session was a film screening for the movie City Lights! Which was followed by a discussion with the movie's director, Hansal Mehta.
The event also saw poetry recitation in Hindi, Urdu, and English and the subject and content were relevant to the present times and the audience connected with each of them. Moving away from the serious subjects, the visitors were treated to a comedy night, Datastango as well.
At the event, The Earth Hour was also observed. Singer Kanishk Seth has been performing at various venues and festivals across the country performing alongside Devashri Manohar, a trained classical singer and Parshva Jain, a sitar player. Along with his band members, he performs classics of the renowned poet

Amir Khusrow

and his original songs to create a surreal musical experience.
