The 13th Aravalli House function was celebrated with great vigour recently. The cultural programme that ensued was based on the theme ‘ Jashn-E-Bachpan’ – which commenced with a welcome song. Next, a tableau ‘Ek Khwab Bachpan Ka’ was presented based on dreams of childhood. This was followed by a rajasthani puppet dance inviting and connecting people to Rajasthan to experience their rich Culture and Heritage. The

orchestra

was a musical orchestration of variegated music emanating from household utensils and equipments. This entailed a

Hindi

Dance Drama ‘ Ek Ashaas Bachpan Ka’ highlighting the plight of neglected children and their transformation with due support to emerge as successful individuals. The E nglish Skit based on Oliver Twist’s ‘David Copperfield’ projected the evil and insidious attitude of society towards an orphan boy who is innocent and good at heart and who wins them all over with goodness. The Korean fan dance conveyed the message that ‘Childhood is the most blissful period of ones life.’ Next, the Chhattisgarhi Folk Dance swayed the audience with its scintillating, foot tapping moves depicting the uniqueness of Chhattisgarh. Eventually, the performers of the Western Dance enthralled the audience with the famous

hip hop

styles of the ‘Jabba Wockeez’.
