With Diwali just a week away, now is the time to give your home a festive glow-up. Whether it’s the trendy leaf lights and the heart-shaped lights or the timeless handmade diyas trending, city markets are alive with a stunning array of options. CT went on a shopping trip with actress Idhika Paul through the markets of Ezra Street, Gariahat and Dum Dum to shop for diyas and festive lights. Here are our picks.

This year it’s all about quirky designs and foliage motif lights. According to sellers at Dum Dum Market, leaf lights are high in demand this year. Hut-shaped and scrap ball lights are also trending. Sarfaraz, a seller in New Market, says, “There’s a rise in sales of lights in different shapes like heart, diamond and star shapes, the quirkier the better.”

  • Keep the lights clean by removing dust regularly
