On the occasion of the 70th birthday of Manik Tai Ambike the students of Kalasakta presented a beautiful dance composition called 'Nrityaparna 2' was recently held in the city. The event took place on Sunday evening at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in Senapati Bapat Road.
In the dance program, the dance performance 'Dhyayeti Yogini' was based on the 64 yoginis as well as the dance performances of the students of 'Kalasakta' institute Bhagyadalakshmi, Amrutvarshini got the appreciation of the audience.
Manik Tai Ambike and her husband Sanjeev Ambike were the chief guests for the evening. Apart from them, senior actress Jyoti Subhash, Anuradha Marathe, Meena Prabhu, Swati Daithankar, Amrita Subhash, Pvt. Nandkumar Kakirde etc. were also present on the occasion.
On behalf of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Maniktai was felicitated with Dnyaneshwari Granth. Earlier in 2012 also, 'Nrityarpan' program was presented in gratitude to Maniktai Ambike. Smita Soman, Pramadwara Kittur, Archana Purandare, Gauri Deshpande, Suvarna Bagh, Gauri Daithankar, Rachna Kapase, Rasika Gumaste, Meghna Sabde had taken the initiative in organizing the event, informed Meghna Sabade. Maniktai Ambike developed her passion for dance through the Department of Continuing Education at SNDT University as well as her own dance institute. Vidyut Page and Dipti Penkar greeted Manik Tai through a video and a dance performance.
