Connoisseurs of classical dance and music in the city were in for a treat this Sunday morning, when seven female artistes performed a kathak piece titled Krishna Kinara at the Lalit Kala Kendra of the Savitribhai Phule Pune University.
The beautiful dance composition called Krishna Kinara, based on Aruna Dhere’s novel of the same name, told the story of three female protagonists — Radha, Draupadi and Kunti — from the Mahabharata.

The protagonists reveal the secrets locked deep within their hearts and confront Krishna with all the hardships they have had to go through because of his decisions.
The composition was directed and choreographed by Mrunmayi Kulkarni, an MA part 2 student of Pune University and also a disciple of Guru Manisha Tai Sathe.
Besides Mrunmayi, the group of dancers included Utkarsha Dagade, Anushka Chandak, Sharvari Bhide, Bhakti Zal, Aishwarya Sane and Trushali Kadam.
