February is an important month for Pt. Bhimsen Joshi as this was the month where he was honoured with the highest civilian honour of Bharat Ratna by Government of India. This month also being his birth anniversary, Swarvandana was organised to pay tribute to him.



Panditji's disciple and son Srinivas Joshi presented a composition in Raga Puriya Kalyan. This was followed by ‘Kanhoba tujhi ghongdi changli’ which was composed by

Sawai Gandharva

. After this Virar Joshi presented raag yaman which was greatly appreciated by the audience. Anand Bhate then took over by his presentation of Raga Durga which was followed by ‘Jaadu bhare tere naina rasile’, a song by

Pandit Bhimsen Joshi

again. Both the artists were accompanied by Pandurang Pawar on tabla.
