Students sing and dance at the Pune Times Fresh Face 2013 auditions in Pune

Melody Makers: The auditions saw a great combination of good ol’ melodies and new numbers belted out by the students. While Supriya Jagtap engaged the audiences with the song Piya Tose Naina Lage, Nishad Joshi played the guitar and sang Lucky Ali’s O Sanam. Actor Chinmay Udgirkar who was judging the event also took to the stage and tried his hands at singing the track as Nishad strummed the guitar.RJ Sumit from Radio Mirchi complimented the participants for the variety in the choice of songs.
Hip and Happening: Crowd cheered as Himanshu VP grooved to the Hindi song Tu Mere Agal Bagal Hai. The auditions saw Yo Yo Honey Singh fans Rohan Dhande and Sumeet Khiwasare showcase their rapping skills. Shubham Chordiya recited his poetry in a filmi style and the audience grooved with Raghunath Bhosale as he danced on the song Criminal from RA.One. Ravi Rathod walked away with a roaring applause for his dances moves on Lungi Dance. Divya Shrama walked the ramp with élan, which was followed by a dance performance by Gayatri Shilke who burned the dance floor with her moves on Aaja Nach Le.
Teacher-Student bonding: Students also encouraged their principal MD Lawrence to come up on stage and display his talent. He obliged and narrated his favourite actor Shashi Kapoor's popular dialogue — Mere Paas Maa Hai, before the students.

Faculty Speak: “This is a unique activity which is not just a one day event but it endeavours to groom and develop the young raw talents into professional ones. In the past our student Sushmita Bhandari won this activity and it changed her life. It doesn’t make them compete against one another, which I feel is mediocrity, but instead it makes them compete with themselves which I feel is making them work toward achieving excellence,” said MD Lawrence.
