Puneites treated to open-air cinema experience

The weekend for Pune movie buffs was not as usual as the regular film watching experience that they would usually do at the movie theatres or binge watching films at home. The two-day event the Film Caravan Festival held at The Poona Club was bustling with film lovers as they gathered at an open-air setting for an out of the world movie watching experience. Spread across two days, the attendees were treated to some live gigs by Deepak Peace & the band and by band Coffee For Giraffes. Organised by

Lost The Plot

, an open-air cinema screening group, attendees also made the most of the open-air garden setting with theatre and a poetry workshop during the day time. While the day time was reserved for music and workshops, evenings were filled with movie screenings as it saw a special screening of the Nipun Dharmadhikari’s Marathi film ‘

’ on day one. The day two movie screenings comprised of film segment on stop motion animation with the 1973 French film

. Another highlight of the event was a clowning themed performance by artistes of IAPAR (International Association for Performing Arts and Research). The 60-min act was enacted in gibberish –a non-language play that focused on how violence plays a role in a child’s life today. The one of a kind film festival was a treat to movie and art lovers of the city that came under the open sky.
