Pune witnessed an extravagant Dahi Handi celebration

Saturday evening turned out to be a public spectacle in the city with extravagant Dahi Handi celebrations, attracting a sea of people to witness Govindas reaching for the handi, by forming human pyramids.

With songs, dancing session and loud cheer, people gathered in various parts of the city to be part of this adventurous celebration. Like every year, this year too, we saw celebrities in attendance. Genelia Deshmukh, Smita Gondkar, Rakul Singh, Monalisa Baghal, Purva Shinde, Kiran Gaikwad, Prarthana Behere, Dhanashri Kadgaonkar, among others, attended the festival in different parts of the city.

While Rakul Preet Singh sang and danced, Smita clicked plenty of selfies with her fans. Genelia Deshmukh danced to the tunes of Pappu Can’t Dance Saala amidst the cheering crowd.

The human pyramid to reach the Dahi Handi was an exciting affair for all, including Purva Shinde and Kiran Gaikwad who were seen cheering in excitement for the Govindas. The Dahi Handi celebrations in the city turned out to be eventful with an eclectic mix of fun and festive cheer.
