On the second day of
Sindhu Dance Festival
, Puneites witnessed an enchanting Kathakali performance by
dancer
Guru Kalashri Kalamandalam C. Gopalkrishnan and troop. The troop performed 'Dushasan Vadham' part of a popular Kathakali drama 'Duryodhan Vadham'. 'Dushasan Vadham' is a story in which Draupadi takes a vow that she will not tie her hair till it is soaked in the blood of Dushasan , the sadistic brother of Duryodhan. Then Bhim, Draupadi’s husband, defeats Dushasan and completes Draupadi’s vow. In the dance performance Guru Kalashri Kalamandalam C. Gopalkrishnan portrayed the character of Raudra Bhiman, while other actors were Kalakhetram Renjish Nair (Krishan), Kalakshetram Dhivya Nandagopalan (Draupadi), Kalakshetram Priya Namboodiri (Duryodhan) and Kalakshetram Narayanan N. N. (Dushasan).
