DHAMAKEDAR PERFORMANCES AND FILMI ANDAAZ

The Pune leg of Livon Times Fresh Face Season 11 couldn’t have asked for a better opening as we were welcomed at the sprawling campus of Bharti Vidyapeeth University College of Engineering, on the first day of college auditions in the city.

With plenty of sunshine and enthusiasm, the auditions kicked-started on a dhamaakedar note. At first, college students were a little shy to register for the open-air auditions, but their peers and last years’ participants encouraged them to be part of season 11. And as our celebrity judge Sushmita Bhandari took her seat, students brought the house down with amazing performances.

Thanks to emcee Amar Jajoo, participants felt comfortable on stage as he cracked jokes and kept the students laughing with his sense of humour.

While some participants got on stage to recite self-composed poetry and sing break up songs, others performed mono acting. But when Akshay Ashok and Siddharth Singh came on the stage, plenty of whistling was in the air. The two are the college’s fitness buddies and showcased their doley-sholey.

Post that, two Kashmiri brothers, Bittu and Maddy, left the crowd cheering with their dance performance.

Judge Sushmita Bhandari who was the national Fresh Face winner in 2014, was reliving moments again as she said, “This is a nostalgic moment for me. Few years back, I was on the stage, and now I am here as a judge. It feels great. Fresh Face gives students an opportunity to shine and showcase their talent at a bigger platform. And I know, these students will achieve all the success.”
