Avirat: The Eternal Flow, an ceramic art exhibition held at Darpan Art Gallery

Avirat: The Eternal Flow, an exhibition of drawings and ceramic sculptures made by Madhvi Kolte was recently organised by Jeevitnadi. This was inaugurated by former Miss World Yukta Mukhi (1999) by watering a banyan sapling. The head of Symbiosis Dr SB Mujumdar, former justice Shri Kolse Patil, the chairperson of Ecological Society Dr Swati Gole, scientist Dr Pramo Moghe, industrialists Atul and Arti Kirloskar, researcher Dr Anupam Saraph, artist Sujata Dharap, Dr Sanjay Kolte and other dignitaries were present.

In his speech Dr S.B.Mujumdar praised Madhavi Kolte for taking the message of the environment to everyone very effectively through her work as an artist and a protector of the environment. Dr Swati Gole spoke briefly about the importance of the ecosystem of rivers and Arati Kirloskar spoke about the speciality of Madhavi’s art. In her speech as the chief guest, Yukta Mukhi said that rivers have been given the position of gods. She said that we should pledge to bring the five polluted rivers of Pune back to life, because it is our duty to hand the natural treasure we have received from Mother Earth in a good condition to the next generation. Shailaja Deshpande, the founder and director of Jeevitnadi, welcomed the guests and was the compere for the program and director Manish Ghorpade presented the vote of thanks.
The exhibition was a display of ceramic sculptures and drawing in the modern art style that she has created over 10 years. She will donate all the funds raised through the sale of this art to Jeevitnadi.
