A twelfth showcase, Interactions- 12 was conducted by Hrishikesh‘s centre of Contemporary Dance to celebrate the efforts of students, their community outreach work and the Young Choreographer’s platform.
“The event will be a kaleidoscope of different choreographic works in which on one hand, our solo dancers have built up their own vocabulary of movement while the others are beginners exploring the medium of dance,” shares the Academy’s Artistic Director Hrishikesh Pawar.

The event saw a total of eleven performances being put up choreographed by Hrishikesh, Poorvaja Kelkar and Vaishali Patil, while Priyanka Banerjee Dasgupta was the rehearsal director. The performances included four choreographies which were solo and unique to each artist performing. Vaishali Patil, Maithily Sevekari, Poorvaja Kelkar and Vasundhara Iyer were the Young choreographers to receive the chance to portray a story which was unique and personal to each of them.
Vaishali’s ‘Quantum World’ spoke of a human’s five senses which experience the world, but in the quantum mechanics way, we are all made from the same thing-atoms. The choreography showed how we are all dependant on the quantum weirdness and we are all quantum. The following choreography- Maze, portrayed our life to be a maze and once we work on ourselves, hold on to something and have belief which solves the maze itself. Poorvaja’s choreography, Touch showed the audience the never-ending questions and a search for the loving and undesirable. The final highlight of the evening was- Finding Myself, choreographed by Vasundhara Iyer which made the audience wonder whether in a world where everyone wants to be heard, is one taking up the chance to be who they were destined to be.
The entire venue rose up in applause at the end of the performance which was not only a visual treat but also philosophical allowing the audience to think about the little things which matter.
