A musical narrative on Mirza Ghalib presented at Poona Club

Mirza Ghalib

’s life and his poems were brought to life at

Poona Club

recently where his poetries were revived in a musical form.

Celebrating his 220th birth anniversary, the event titled Mirza Ghalib - A Musical Narrative witnessed live recitations of his letters and anecdotes interspersed with his ghazals on stage. The narratives and ghazals were presented by

Salim Arif

and singer

Tauseef Akhtar

. This was followed by the presenting the anecdotes of

Ghalib

’s life, his children and his political views.

The audience were mesmerised with the performances and later they engaged in the an interaction with the performers.
