Having experimented with sculptures for the first time, Puja mentioned that she was fascinated by the concept of the mind and the way it controls the body.
“That is what I’ve tried to portray through this show,” she said.
Lending support to Puja on her big day were husband Naveen and son Siddhartha and Puja’s joy knew no bounds when her guru, the maestro Rameshwar Broota came in from Delhi only to encourage her. “Puja has perfected the technique of painting as well as sculpting, a difficult feat to attain,” said Broota. Neeta Pandey was heard talking about her own mosaic work while Gary Richardson spoke animatedly about an upcoming play. Jimi and Ranjan Kapur, who were seen indulged in a hearty chat with Dilip Piramal, were so stunned by the beauty of the works that they couldn’t resist engulfing Puja in a bear hug. A N Roy came along with wife Mona, while Ahmed Javed was accompanied by wife Shabnam, but no, the topic of discussion was not crime and criminals but rather, was centred on art. The art frat was present in full force with Brinda Chudasama-Miller (who sported an interesting Chinese inscription on her pant), Jaideep and Seema Mehrotra, Vipta Kapadia and Jenny Bhatt (who, when asked for her quotes, pointed to her T-shirt display have quotation marks, saying, ‘there...you have them!’)
