Pleasant weather boosts footfall at city parks

at the parks and other hangout zones of the city has increased. Mintu Kumar, a gatekeeper at Deshratna Park, said, “There were very few people visiting the

park

in the last one month. The temperature used to be over 40 degree Celsius. This was the main reason behind why people preferred staying at home. Now, since the weather is a bit cooler, the footfall has increased at most of the parks.”

On Sunday, the Eco Park was buzzing with people of every age. Suman Tiwari, a homemaker, said, “After a long time, we got rid of the scorching heat. We avoided going out during summer. My five-year-old son Rudra wanted to go for an outing. Since the weather was good, we decided to spend some time here and relax. Today, there is a heavy footfall. Usually, it does not seem so crowded as the park is very big.”

Sharing similar views, Manoj Dubey, a teacher, said, “The schools will reopen this week. So, I wanted to take my seven-year-old daughter for an outing. She was urging me to take her out since long, but I refused due to the high temperature. However, thanks to the monsoon, we can now go out somewhere in the city and enjoy.”

Youngsters could be seen enjoying boat rides while the kids had their happy time at the children’s zone. Sikha, a college student, said, “I did not visit any park in summer. I have come here with my friends and we are enjoying a lot. Boating was great fun.”
