The markets are already buzzing with activity. Women can be seen buying cosmetics, accessories and trendy yet traditional apparels for the occasion. The stalls selling bangles and heena are overcrowded. Shalini Singh, a railway employee, said, “Shopping for Karva Chauth adds on to our festive spirit. It is mostly celebrated by the Punjabi women in Patna, but in the past few years it has also become popular among Bihari citizens. Tomorrow, all the women of our society will gather under one roof to celebrate the day. This is my first Karva Chauth. So, I am really excited.”
