Human chain to unite people of Patna

The city students are all set to make a human chain on January 19 to create awareness against dowry and

child marriage

. Traffic will be stalled for some time on the roads in the afternoon. The event will be inaugurated by chief minister Nitish Kumar at Gandhi Maidan.

Various bands will perform at different places, which will make the event even more colourful. Priya Choudhary, a student, said, “We are very exited to form the human chain. This will be the first human chain of the year. Various band groups and artistes will entertain us at different places. We will also carry placards with messages against dowry and child marriage written on it.”

Sharing similar views, Kavita Singh, a social activist, said, “This is a very good initiative by the government and it will encourage not just the residents of Bihar but the entire country to fight against evils that still exist in our society.”
