About 25 students of Magadh Mahila College (MMC) recently received a special training from Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development Institute recently. The students learnt how to run a food processing unit. The session emphasised on marketing nuances as well. Navin Kumar Sinha, director, MSME, said, “More than the production, the marketing part is difficult.
Women entrepreneurs hardly know how to sell their stuff in the local market. Therefore, experts of our institute guided them. They got to know about the key areas and how they should be marketing their products.”
Other guests present at the event included Usha Jha, member, Mahila Udyog Sangh Adhyaksh, MK Sinha, member, Patna Management Association and Dr Shashi Sharma, principal of the college. Addressing the students, Shashi Sharma said, “We have completed one year of our incubation centre, which was launched to boost women entrepreneurs of
Bihar. In the first year, we have motivated several girls to choose entrepreneurship as their career option. The incubation also helps them make proposals. The top three proposals will get funds from the government to proceed further with their ideas.”
Usha Jha also encouraged the girls, saying, “You will be guided at every step. All you need to do is come up with a good idea. Even after you complete your college, our organisation will support you and guide you at every step. You all should become a job giver rather than a job seeker. That will make your education worth appreciating.”
