City gears up to celebrate Prakash Parv

The city is gearing up to celebrate the 353rd anniversary of

. Tourists from various parts of the country, as well as from abroad, have started visiting

Patna

for the occasion. The centre of the celebrations will be Patna Sahib Gurudwara, located near Kangan Ghat. A tourist facilitation centre and tents for 10,000 people will also be set up at Kangan Ghat.

Strict security arrangements will be made throughout the city so that the visitors don’t face any trouble. Policemen in civil clothes will patrol the city and offenders will be rounded up. “Officers, including women, from all police stations will be deployed in plain clothes to keep a tab on the celebrations. Those found indulging in eve-teasing will be nabbed immediately. Besides, all the CCTV cameras had been checked and repaired,” an official, said.

People from outside the state who are going to be in Patna for the occasion of Prakash Parv will enjoy a rich variety of

classical music

, dance, painting exhibitions and theatre. Gurpreet Singh, a visitor from Punjab, said, “I have been participating in the Prakash Parv for the last two years and this will be my third year. I am staying at the temporary tent set up at Kangan Ghat. All facilities, including toilets, lighting, warm water, medicine and security, will be provided to the pilgrims. Also, there will be heaters to keep the area warm. I am hoping for a comfortable and peaceful celebration.”
