A prestigious organisation has decided to honour maths genius
Anand Kumar with Rs 10 lakh for his contribution in the field of education. Anand said, “I feel honoured that I have been selected for the Mahavir Award. I will spend the award money on poor children who want to study. Such awards encourage me to work more for the weaker sections of society. I thank all those who have been by my side under every circumstance.
They boost my confidence. I am also grateful to the selection committee for considering me a deserving candidate.”
Last month, he was felicitated in Cambridge for his initiative to teach poor children and help them pursue their dreams. Several people congratulated Anand on his success. Rupnarayan Yadav, an engineer and his former student, said, “I have no words to express my feelings for his success. This award is very small with respect to his contribution in building many careers.”
Besides meeting his friends and students of Silicon Valley, he also met Lisa Beare, British Columbia Tourism, Arts and Culture minister, who congratulated him for his noble endeavour. Another engineer, Rajeev Rath, said, “Anand Kumar is a real hero and inspiration for the entire world. Even I want to follow his footsteps and do something for the needy.”
Sharing similar views, Anil Singh, a government employee shared, “We need more Anand Kumars in our society. He has set an example for all. I extend my heartiest congratulations on his success.”
