Radio Mirchi organized a kite flying contest on the occasion of Makar Sankranti.
This was a special Makar Sankranti for Jaipurites because those who take kite flying as a passion, got a chance to show off their skills as they took part in a city-wide contest. The contest, organised by Radio Mirchi was a kite flying reality show, which saw as many as 15 shortlisted families participating.The scores were set on the basis of the number of flights of other kites one cut short and the number of kites one lost.
The endeavour that got an overwhelming response from Jaipurites, as it received hundreds of entries. And to everyone���s surprise after much pench ladana the coveted title was won by a 15-year-old kite flyer Shailesh, who captured 12 kites and lost only one in the fight. ���I love flying kites but never knew that the sport will make me so popular one day. The win has made this Makar Sankranti, an unforgettable one for me,��� said Shailesh, who was busy receiving compliments from relatives and close friends.
And there is more! The win was celebrated full on at Shailesh���s house with a small bash, post contest. Amid all the fun and frolic RJ Vikas presented the little wonder with a 12 mega pixel digital camera ��� the prize. He was indeed flying higher after that.
