The Abs talent show, which took place in the city recently, proved otherwise. Recently, twenty contestants from the Abs clubs across the city were given a platform to showcase their talents. Music filled the venue, as the they displayed their skills on instruments like guitar, tabla, banjo and the harmonica.
There also displayed their mettle in dance performances, acting and mimicry. Though the performers were amateurs, their performances were most definitely extraordinary. Mohammad Muneem, with his own musical composition, won the first prize. Ayesha Fernandez, with her fusion dance, was the first runner-up, and Satnam Saluja, with his acting skills, won the second runner-up prize. The highlight of the show was a song by Shekhar Sable, who was also the compere of the event. We saw Abhimanyu Sable and Dr Charushila Sable enjoying and encouraging the members.
The show was judged by well-known television actors Girish Pardeshi and Abhayank Kuvalekar, dance guru Rocky Poonawala and corporate honcho Hiren Shah. The other members of Abs cheered on and all in all it was a show worth remembering.
