Yet there was a desire to recollect the rich yesteryears that saw M F Hussain contributing to Ahmedabad’s thriving art scenario. Ahmedabad’s who’s who came together to remember M F Husain, the artist who put contemporary Indian art on the global map. Today Husain is not there but his master strokes are all there in Amdavad ni Gufa to inspire generations.
The prominent citizens from the field of art, architecture, industry and culture were all there to share a slice of their memory.
Noted architect B V Doshi talked of his long years of association with M F Husain which finally found its signature in the form of Amdavadi ni Gufa. Art entrepreneur Anil Relia who was there in London when Husain passed away gave an impression of his memories through words. The tributes were all glowing for a man who loved Ahmedabad and interacted with its artists at an intimate level. Others who spoke on the occasion were artist Amit Ambalal, Natu Parekh and Nabibaksh Mansoori.
