Sandwich treat

The participants discovered umpteen ways to decorate their sandwiches. While few sandwiches scored brownie points on the yummy quotient, many others scored high on the low calorie quotient.Manju Shahni made a sandwich filled with cream, nuts and mangoes; and dressed it up with fruits giving it a royal look in a fruity way.
The tag line of the sandwich - 'Straight from the palaces of Jodhaa Akbar, With Love from Jodhaa' - fitted the description to the T. When asked about it, she said, "Well, this sandwich is for my Akbar, that is my hubby." However, it was Geeta Rao, who won the first prize for the mouth-watering piece of bread, named 'Salsa Fresca' that was basically a vegetable sandwich.
Apart from the judges Renu Thapar, Ramendra Dutta and Dr Rajshree Khot, there were many others, who were seen relishing the variety of bread that was on the platter. But there were too many takers for these delectable delights and a sort of free-for-all ensued to grab a bite. Many also used this evening to catch up with old friends.
