Music mirchi maar ke

It was a perfect eevning to listen to Indian Ocean's soul stirring music.

RJ Supriya (TOI photo)A prominent aviation institute of the city in association with Radio Mirchi organised a rocking event the other day.
The highlight of the show was a rocking performance by the band Indian Ocean. Mahesh Mani Pandey, Managing Director of the aviation institute along with Sumit Raghunath, Marketing Head of Radio Mirchi, played gracious hosts.

The evening kick-started with the popular number Aray ruk ja o bande by the band. And that was the beginning of one rocking journey as the band casts its spell on the audience gathered there to see them perform.
Amit Kilam and Rahul Ram, the lead vocalists, mesmerised the audience with their brilliant voice quality. They sang many numbers like Hilela, Desert Rain, Kandisa, Jhini Bhor, etc.
Also the strumming notes of Susmit Sen on acoustic guitar, Rahul Ram on bass guitar, Asheem Chakravarty on tabla and Amit Kilam's expertise on drums and flute regaled the audience with a never heard before musical treat.
Spotted enjoying the evening was RJ Garima, RJ Supriya, RJ Rajeev and RJ Charu while Dip Joy, Sakshi Gupta, Isha and Neha Gupta sat glued to their seats, listening attentively to each song.
The mix of pure Hindustani classical music with jazz improvisation and rock-laden rhythmic patterns truly set the evening ablaze.
