As Nirzar Film Society’s Carlsberg 2nd International Film Festival Nagpur enters its last phase, there has been a rush of movie lovers checking out the different movies that are being screened. NT got a taste of the filmi fervour.
Dvandva was a movie that was made by Nagpurians and naturally, it saw quite a few film enthusiasts present for the screening.
The film which dwells on the duality of right and wrong, which people are constantly faced with, is produced by Anurag Kulkarni and directed by IIM Ahmedabad graduate Chhatrapal Ninawe. Said Anurag, “We are happy with the response and now we are planning to take this film to other festivals too. Let’s see how this works out for us.” Another film which was appreciated by quite a few people was Holy Bastard. Based on the age-old Devdasi custom, this poignant film gave many lots to think about.
After famed movies were screened, it was time for some different kind of entertainment, which gave audience food for thought. Yes, we are talking about short films and the audience was seen going gaga over this unusual form of cinema. Short films catering to different genre and different languages were screened in order to give people a variety. With all the films sending across some or the other message, this section sure won the hearts of many. We witnessed the audience cheering and applauding when some good short-films like Sibling Rivalry, Galli Cricket and Khalish were screened. Surely these short films were big on messages!
