Inaugurated by IG Lucknow zone, AK Jain, the programme started nearly two hours behind schedule prompting Durga Jasraj to point out aptly, "Hats-Off to Lucknowites for their patience."
MAUSIKI:
Jagjit Singh was accorded a warm welcome and he too expressed his gratitude by singing some of his most popular ghazals in that mellifluous voice. Starting with Kuch na kuch followed by Tere baare mein jab socha nahi tha, Hosh waalon ko khabar kya and Koi dost hai na koi raqeeb, his warm baritone made everyone forget the chill of the night sitting under open skies. Later Yogesh Samsi's tabla recital had the audience wishing for the night to never end.

KADARDAAN:
The surprise visitor was singer and Jagjit Singh's wife, Chitra Singh. The others included connoisseurs of music. Zahur Zaidi was spotted with wife Alvira. DM Chandra Bhanu too made an appearance and for once shed his grim demeanour. Bureaucrats Anant Dev and Sanjay Prasad, SSP Akhil Kumar with spouse Jaya, Dy SP ShaHab and Rashid Khan.
CHAT SESSIONS
The renowned Ghazal singer Jagjit Singh was in town recently for a performance. Ad before the concert came the mandatory media interaction where the maestro held forth along with his tabla accompanist Yogesh Samsi and Durga Jasraj. And though Singh answered a few questions, he definitely needs to be more media savvy. One would think that after all these years he'd be more forthcoming, but you can't win them all. Jasraj was probably having a bad-hair day as she was mostly spotted adjusting her mane. Yogesh Samsi was the coolest of the lot with a perpetual smile on his face.
