Religious fervour marked the celebration of Krishna Janmashtmi at a city lawn recently. With the dahi handi event and a dance kids mesmerised all with their cute performances.
Good exposure
Ashwin Golcha, who was watching the programme with keen interest, said, "It was good to see small kids performing so beautifully. In our time, such events were only limited to school and colleges but it’s nice to know that even at family functions such elaborate events are planned."
Practice speaks
The reason behind these kids performing so perfectly was the regular practice and their dedication.
Anita Nahar said, "These kids practised for around two months especially for this event and must say, they did a wonderful job.”’
Going traditional
We saw many girls and ladies like Sejal Palan, Mona Vipani, Shalini Hirani and Bhagyashree Shyamgole in traditional attire to give the event a festive look.
Take-away gifts
Though dubbed a dahi-handi event, the handi had thermacol balls, chocolates, pencils, sharpeners etc which the kids looted with full enthusiasm. Even the take-away gift for all was a handi with lots of chocolates in it.
